Getting Married in Australia
To be legally married in Australia, either party must:
- not be married to someone else
- not be marrying a parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, brother or sister
- be at least eighteen years old, unless a court has approved a marriage where one party is aged between sixteen and eighteen years old
- understand what marriage means and freely consent
- use specific words during the ceremony
- give written notice of their intention to marry to their authorised celebrant, within the required time frame.
The Notice of Intended Marriage
Before you get married you need to complete a notice of intended marriage form at least 1 month (but not more than 18 months) before your wedding. You can complete it if you are overseas and plan to get married in Australia.
If there is less than 1 month until your wedding, talk to me as you may be able to get married if a prescribed authority approves it.

My Pricing Guide
Well I know when I am shopping for something I want to know how much. So I assume you would want to know how much I charge. As a Registered Marriage Celebrant I play a huge and vital part in your wedding day. There is so much more to a wedding ceremony than just the 30 minutes, or in some cases an hour, spent in front of your assembled family and friends.
No matter what size or shape your ceremony will take, I will put the same amount of professionalism and care into your ceremony.
On average, I spend a total of 10-15 hours preparing and finalising each wedding.
I can email or send via private message my Client Service Agreement with Schedule of Fees:
it states clear consistent boundaries and it gives protection for both parties.

Offering Marriage Certificate
The Victorian Births Deaths and Marriages has an online system for Registered Marriage Celebrants called RIO (Registry Information Online). This online system is the only way for me to register a marriage.
I have the ability to order the official marriage certificate for you when I submit your solemnised marriage online. This will save you perhaps months in the waiting game and having to provide any identification if you order one yourself.I must order and pay for the certificate at the time I submit the marriage to the RIO. I can give you the current cost at the time.
