You wedding represents a unique moment in your life and is a deeply personal celebration, and should represent you both. We are all different so each wedding should be different. Be mindful in your decisions and stay focused on what matters and be true to you. You don't need to know exactly what you want just yet. That's where I come in. I will guide you through the choices, ideas and possibilities, helping you create a ceremony that reflects who you are as a couple and feels truly personal to you.

As a Commonwealth Registered Marriage Celebrant ...
I Solemnise marriages under the Marriage Act 1961 and Marriage Regulations 1963.
I Conduct myself in accordance with the Code of practice for marriage celebrants.
I Comply with my ongoing professional development obligations.
Under Australian law, only an authorised celebrant can legally solemnise marriages within Australia.I have been granted registration (and it is maintained) by the Attorney-General’s Department.

Getting Married in Australia
To be legally married in Australia, either party must:
  • not be married to someone else
  • not be marrying a parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, brother or sister
  • be at least eighteen years old, unless a court has approved a marriage where one party is aged between sixteen and eighteen years old
  • understand what marriage means and freely consent
  • use specific words during the ceremony
  • give written notice of their intention to marry to their authorised celebrant, within the required time frame.
You don't have to be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia to legally marry here. You can find marriage visa information on the Department of Immigration and Border Protection website, if you hope to live in Australia after your marriage.

The Notice of Intended Marriage

Before you get married you need to complete a notice of intended marriage form at least 1 month (but not more than 18 months) before your wedding. You can complete it if you are overseas and plan to get married in Australia.
If there is less than 1 month until your wedding, talk to me as you may be able to get married if a prescribed authority approves it.
  • As your authorised marriage celebrant I will prepare the form.
  • I will need:
  • evidence of your date and place of birth (birth certificate or passport)
  • identity (driver’s licence or passport)
  • proof that a previous marriage has ended
  • meet each of you separately and in person

Your ceremony is the heart of your wedding day — the moment where your love story, your promises and your commitment are celebrated surrounded by the people who matter most. We can stay in touch in whatever way suits you best throughout the planning process. Whether it's in person, by phone, email, Facebook Messenger, Zoom or FaceTime, I'm always happy to answer questions, discuss ideas, or simply have a chat whenever you need guidance. If meeting face to face isn't possible, we'll easily connect using whichever option is most convenient for you.

Marriage Registration Step One – Booking Your Wedding We will meet to discuss your wedding plans and complete your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM). A non-refundable booking fee of $150 is payable. Your wedding date is secured once your booking fee has been received and your Client Services Agreement completed. Well I know when I am shopping for something I want to know how much. So I assume you would want to know how much I charge. As a Registered Marriage Celebrant I play a huge and vital part in your wedding day. There is so much more to a wedding ceremony than just the 30 minutes, or in some cases an hour, spent in front of your assembled family and friends. No matter what size or shape your ceremony will take, I will put the same amount of professionalism and care into your ceremony. On average, I spend a total of 10-15 hours preparing and finalising each wedding. Every wedding package is designed to provide you with professional guidance, personalised support and everything needed to create a beautiful ceremony experience. • Ceremony at a venue within the city of Colac (Additional travel costs apply for locations outside Colac). • Initial booking meeting at Helen’s home office. • Personalised wedding ceremony. • Provision of Helen's "Creating Your Ceremony" Booklet • Inspiration for music, poems, readings, blessings and meaningful quotes.
Ultimate Wedding Ceremony Package- Celebrant Fee $850 plus travel costs
• A unique and fully personalised wedding ceremony tailored to your style and vision. • Ceremony conducted at your chosen location. Travel costs determined according to the venue location. • Two planning meetings at Helen's home or another mutually convenient location. • Unlimited ceremony revisions • On-site rehearsal (optional but highly recommended). Offering Marriage Certificate Service

I have the ability to purchase your official Marriage Certificate on your behalf when I submit your completed marriage registration through the Victorian Births, Deaths and Marriages online system. This provides you with a convenient option by allowing the certificate to be ordered at the time your marriage is registered, saving you the need to complete a separate application and provide identification yourself. Once your certificate has been ordered and payment processed, I will receive a reference number, which I will provide to you for your records. Processing times for official marriage certificates vary, and current information can be found through the Victorian Births, Deaths and Marriages website.
